2019 at BioPharma Engineering: Our Year in Review
2019 has been an exciting year for us all here at BioPharma Engineering, full of growth, innovation, and big plans. We couldn’t do it without you — so we want to say a massive thank you for being with us on the journey. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from this year.
Project Delivery
We delivered several projects across sterile, aseptic laboratory and filling, multiproduct, small scale, high containment peptide facilities. We also completed continuous manufacturing conceptual designs, high containment infrastructure developments, new builds as well as product transfers from UK to Ireland
Some project highlights throughout the year was the completion of the Detailed Design for a new High Potency OEB5 facility, an EPCM contract for Site Capacity Increase and Expansion and a €35m Concept Study to support the full end to end production and packing of a new sterile injectable syringe product.
We also welcomed on board a new global animal health company to our client portfolio.
Growing resources and expertise
In the Summer, we announced our increased our office capacity in both Cork and Dublin that will allow us to bring our headcount to over 150 people by 2022. In addition to this, we launched our new graduate programme last September which will see us welcoming up to 10 new graduates in 2020-the largest ever graduate intake.
Recognition
Other highlights for BPE this year included being awarded Best Engineering Design Company 2019 and our prestigious international recognition at the ISPE Facility of the Year Awards for being the engineering and project management design partner for the 2019 winner.
Key Sponsorship
In October, we were delighted to sponsor the 2019 Pharma Industry Awards– Pharma Project of the Year Large category. We were honoured to present the award to Eli Lilly, Kinsale for their Pilot Scale Biotech Facility Project.
Inspiring The Next Generation
BPE continued to support and partner with our local academic institutions and organsiations to support the next generation of engineers. Earlier this year we were delighted to deliver a 10 Week Engineering in a Box programme to the 5th Class Pupils of Ballintemple National School, Cork. Following this we were delighted to announce our partnership with STEM South West–a new regional initiative to encourage the next generation to take up a career in STEM
We look forward to seeing whats in store for 2020. So once again, from all of us at BPE: thank you. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and new year!
